So - I could entitle this: First Communion/Fairy Tale Session, but SEO would FREAK. OUT. So, just know it can be both. Or either! It's both.
I've had the honor of photographing Elisabeth a few times, being an ultra-cool classmate of my triplets - and she never disappoints! Her Mama, aka, my baker bestie friend of Buttercrumbs Bakery, wanted a session of her in the blossoms, and I was all over that! Elisabeth + Communion Attire + Buffalo Cherry Blossoms? Add in some architecture and Holy Heck, Yes! We decided on the Japanese Gardens downtown by the History Museum, and wow - the day was overcast, and the blooms were just past their prime, but the scene was perfectly set for an insanely dramatic fairy tale! I was in heaven, and if everyone else involved wasn't risking hypothermia ("Mom! I can't feel my face!" Kids were assisting, because - friends!), I could have shot her all day. Heaven! Did I say that already? Anyway, take a look down and see what I mean! We ended up creating a 5x5 trifold card on linen cardstock with her images for their family in Belgium and it was stunning and magical and girly - so... Elisabeth; she's beautiful inside and out! It was such a great session that I had a hard time choosing which ones to edit, and an even harder time deciding what to blog. Image heavy, but all my favorites - she's so great to photograph!
As a side note, I go crazy for the details that set the stage, so I'm not only photographing you, I'm looking for the surrounding bits so I can tell the whole story of our adventure! I really think that the context of the session helps you get back into the memory every time you look at your gallery.
A special thank you to Elisabeth, Kat and Ken - you are my muse(s) - and cherry tree shakers! :) xoxo
